APIs CAN 2025 Annual Impact Report
APIs CAN 2025 Annual Impact Report
Dear Friends and Partners,
As we reflect on 2025, I am filled with gratitude for the collective power of our coalition and the many ways we have strengthened the Asian and Pacific Islander American voice across Massachusetts—especially at a moment when our communities are facing heightened uncertainty, political hostility, and real threats to safety and belonging.
With a fully staffed team for the first time, 2025 marked a turning point for APIs CAN—we deepened our impact by expanding our coalition, taking bold steps to advance an advocacy agenda rooted in equity and belonging, and centering narrative change. At a time when immigrant and refugee communities are confronting renewed deportation threats and harmful rhetoric, our work has never been more urgent. Through the Speakers Bureau program, now called Pour the Tea storytelling series, we trained 30 emerging APIA leaders from across the Commonwealth to share their stories. We launched our very first legislative agenda and hosted the inaugural APIA Advocacy Day at the MA State House. With the release of the 2025 APIA Report, in partnership with the Institute for Asian American Studies, the Asian Community Fund, and the AAPI Commission, we are pioneering the importance of equitable data to shape how APIA experiences and leadership are seen and understood.
Together, we built momentum behind key policy priorities, engaged new partners in our immigrant justice work by supporting the creation of the LUCE Immigrant Justice Network, and amplified our shared message through media and community engagement—meeting this moment with clarity, courage, and a deep commitment to defending our communities.
As we look ahead to 2026—our 10th anniversary year—we do so with both pride and purpose. APIs CAN was founded on the belief that we are stronger together. A decade later, that truth continues to guide us as we build sustained power, nurture new leadership, and ensure APIA voices shape a more just and inclusive Commonwealth.
Thank you for being part of this journey—your partnership makes this work possible. Here’s to ten years of progress and the stories still to be told.
With gratitude,
Jaya Savita
